Life is full of choices and this is something we are all aware of. How you view your life is the most powerful choice you have to make.
The first choice is life happens and you react.
The second choice is you are the director of your life.
The wonderful thing is that there is no "wrong" choice. You are the one to decide which is best for you because this is your life. However, each option produces extremely different results. Not choosing which option you like is probably the best approach but you need to choose the option that has the end result you think is best for you.
End Result of Life Choice 1, Unknown
Determining the outcome is quite impossible here. Why, you ask? Because you're letting everyone and everything else determine your life's outcome. The one constant is that you will spend your life reacting to events around you.
But beware: many who choose this road end up considering themselves a victim of life. Spotting a Life Choice #1 individual is easy because they are full of excuses and are quick to blame others. These excuses would include why they have no job ("nobody will hire me"), why they're to work every day ("traffic is horrible"), why they don't have supportive relationships ("my parents didn't teach me who to look for"), and generally, they just can't seem to get ahead.
In Life Choice 2, the End Result is Known
The outcome here is much better defined because you are in charge. Essentially, your life is a movie, full of main characters, supporting casts, dramatic events, and even a few twists in the plot. You are also the director in your own life and this is the exciting part about Life Choice #2. What's the job of directors? Editing. Reviewing. They revise. They add whatever it is that makes the movie best such as comedy, love, and action.
Spotting a person who has chosen Life Choice #2 is easy because you take responsibility for your actions and accept the consequences, whether they are good or bad. Because of this, the end result is that your life is yours.

Who is the director you or everyone else? (Remember that not making a choice is not an option it's a passive way of picking Life Choice #1 - letting life happen.)
